BBQ!

This week the Wesley Center took a field trip to John's house for a BBQ. It was an awesome event that got us out of the campus mindset and onto a lawn and poolside. The burgers were delicious, and, as always, the company was great.

This time of the academic year is the most difficult for me. The end is in sight, but classes continue. Most of my friends at schools in other parts of the country have already completed finals and have started their summer travels, jobs, or general laziness. But our academic year continues under the blue skies and shady trees, and we have essay after essay to desperately wrap up.

An evening at the Wesley Center is a vital part of my survival mechanism for this time of the year. Have some conversations unrelated to my academic life. Spend some time with wonderful and help each other out with their daily joys and concerns. Spend some time admiring our beautiful backyard garden (blog on this coming soon, but it is really quite impressive).

Take some time to have a burger and sit by a pool. Relax. Talk about literature and cookies and ridiculous sports stories.

(sigh) Life is good.
